Serving clients for over 30 years has been incredibly rewarding. The people I’ve met and the relationships we’ve cultivated are key to my professional success and, more importantly, to my personal growth. I’ve been very fortunate to have mentors who set an example of serving clients and building a business. I’m grateful for my clients' trust and the opportunity to partner and plan with them.

A competitive spirit shaped me at an early age as I channeled energy through athletics. Hard work and practice led to a basketball scholarship at Saint Francis University in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Playing college basketball was fun, but I realized the NBA was not scouting small college hoops in Indiana, so I transferred to the University of Cincinnati to finish my degree in economics. My competitive nature now drives me to identify the best financial strategies to ensure our clients reach their goals.

Transferring to U.C. was the smartest thing I ever did because I met a young co-ed, Tammy Byers, who is my best friend, the love of my life, and my wife. Tam is a leader in women’s ministry at Horizon Community Church. Her faith propels her passion to assist women in pursuing their faith. The life Tam and I have built continues to grow.

Our youngest son, Ryan, is a graduate of Cincinnati Christian University. Ryan’s heart to serve was solidified at a young age as he journeyed on two mission trips to Mexico. Ry is currently employed with Stepping Stones, helping to provide pathways to independence for people with developmental disabilities. His work is challenging but extremely rewarding.

Our oldest son, Colin, joined my practice in 2019, and I am proud to work side-by-side with him, growing the business and ensuring our clients and their families are taken care of for many years to come. That same year, Colin married Alexandra. Alex is a fantastic addition to our family. Colin and Alex expanded the Hill clan with the birth of their son Brooks on January 3, 2022. Yes, I am old enough to be a grandfather (Pops).

Since 1991, I have advised individuals, couples, retirees, and family-owned businesses on achieving their financial objectives through strategic planning. We offer a high-touch, relational approach with the resources of a larger firm.

Professional Designations: FINRA Series 6, 7, and 63 securities registrations and Life & Health Insurance License

My introduction to the workforce began at age 12. At Dad’s suggestion, I signed up to caddy at the local country club. Dad ensured timeliness with a ride to the course and Mom kept the books, tracking my rounds.  The invaluable life lessons of being on time, working hard, understanding the value of a dollar, and how to effectively communicate with adults have served me well over the years. My parents encouraged me to save and monitored my spending. As a kid, it’s not easy to sneak a purchase of the latest toy or video game while under the watchful eye of your financial planner father.

My mom set an example of service by her involvement with charity fundraisers. If the event she was planning called for 20 volunteers, she only needed 17 because 3 spots were filled by my dad, my brother, and me. Her example of service continues to this day as a leader in women’s ministry at Horizon Community Church.

As a Cincinnati native, I enjoy the “big city with the small-town feel.” On June 1, 2019, I married my best friend and love of my life, Alex. For the first two years of marriage, we lived in a one-bedroom apartment on 8th Street. This allowed us to experience everything Cincinnati has to offer: great restaurants, a revitalized downtown, arts, athletics, entertainment, innovation, and development.

Alex is the program coordinator for First Tee, a charitable youth development organization focused on helping kids build character through the game of golf. Alex attended the University of Cincinnati on a golf scholarship and coached golf while in graduate school at Southern Mississippi. With two master’s degrees and a +2.5 handicap, I am continuing a rich tradition of Hill men, “We marry up.”

Alex and I love to golf, travel, and experience new adventures. Our biggest and best adventure to date arrived on January 3, 2022, when we welcomed our son Brooks to the world. He has captured our hearts and fills each day with joy.

I’m grateful for the successful and thriving financial practice that my dad has built and the opportunity to be a part of this team. To strengthen my foundation, I have passed the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam and the FINRA Series 7 and 66 exams.

It has been exciting to learn how we serve clients day-to-day and see the benefits of a long-term, disciplined approach to financial planning. The most rewarding part of my experience thus far is seeing the depth of relationships we develop with our clients and their families, and the positive impact we can have on their lives. I’m humbled by this opportunity and look forward to helping our clients achieve financial security, partnering with them to create the legacies they want to leave.

I was blessed to grow up in a family that taught the value of hard work. We picked endless flats of strawberries, sacks of potatoes, and buckets of green beans before we could go make mud pies in a camp we built in the woods. The produce we sold to local grocery stores, teaching us the value of our labor. I worked my way through college attending Northern Kentucky University, earning a bachelor’s degree in business management.

Soon after college, I met my wonderful husband of 24 years. Dan is my best friend and my biggest supporter. Dan has been in the financial banking industry for 24 years. He currently works for Peoples Bank in the Madeira branch. We make a great team, raising 4 beautiful children who attended St. Gertrude School and the Madeira City Schools.

Our daughter Haley is a senior at the University of Cincinnati in the Lindner Honors PLUS Program working on a master’s degree in accountancy. Our daughter Mary, a Freshman at the University of Cincinnati, is pursuing a degree in early childhood education. Our son Eddie is a senior at Madeira High School graduating in the spring of 2024. He was a member of the varsity golf team for four years and hopes to secure a college scholarship for golf upon his graduation. Our youngest daughter Ellie is in 8th grade at Madeira Middle School, and she plays basketball and golf. Her hard work and dedication to golf resulted in her being the “medalist” low scorer 10+ times this year!

As a family, we enjoy making memories on the beaches of Hilton Head Island. My roles as a wife and mother for the past 21 years have been incredibly rewarding and fulfilling. In addition to holding down the home front, I volunteered at church and the kids’ schools. I might be the best on call chef, and uber driver who gets paid in hugs. I’m a teacher, and a doctor who’s always on call. I will never tire of hearing “Mom”, in fact, it’s a gift that I treasure every day. I am lucky and blessed to have been a stay-at-home mom.

I am excited about stepping back into the workforce as a member of the Hill Financial team. I look forward to the new challenges created by this opportunity, to getting to know our clients, and to delivering the high level of service they have come to expect.

Tucker

Canine Ambassador

Hi, I’m Tucker, Canine Ambassador for Hill Financial Strategies. I’ve been in my role at the firm since early 2020, just before COVID-19 hit. The timing could not have been better because my primary responsibility is to reduce stress for the team and for our clients who come to our office on “Furball Fridays.”

When I'm not in the office, I spend my time being petted by family and friends, playing fetch, or just lying around. Now that I think about it, these activities aren’t any different when I’m in the office, oh well. I also like taking walks, hanging out at the park, and in the summer, I love to swim in the pool. Yep, life is good for the Tuckster!

If you see me in the office or if we meet around town, please introduce yourself and scruff my head—I really like that. I’m sorry if I jump up, I get excited when I meet new people and can’t contain myself, it’s something I’m working on.

I hope you visit our website regularly, because from time to time I’ll be updating “Tuck’s Tips.” These recommendations have nothing to do with financial planning, they’re more about “life stuff.”

  • Tuck’s Tip #1 – Life is short, so if someone offers to rub your belly, scratch behind your ear, or pet you on the head, take them up on it—it feels awesome!
